The Scottish immigrant, Mary Anne MacLeod Trump is popularly known as the mother of businessman and President of the United States, Donald Trump. She was a daughter of Malcolm MacLeod (1866-1954), a crofter, fisherman and Compulsory Officer (truancy officer) and Mary MacLeod (née Smith) (1867-1963). MacLeod lived with her older sister named Christina Matheson on Long Island and worked as a domestic servant for four years in 1930 U.S. Census listing her occupation as a maid or domestic.
Mary Anne MacLeod Trump married Frederick Christ "Fred" Trump, a real estate developer and philanthropist in January 1936. Her husband Fred Trump suffered from pneumonia and died in June 1999. Mary had five children. Her daughter Maryanne Trump Barry was born in 1937, she is a federal appeals court judge. Her son Frederick "Fred" Jr was born in 1938 and died in 1981. Her daughter Elizabeth Trump was born in 1942, she is an executive assistant at Chase Manhattan Bank. Her son Donald Trump was born in 1946; he was elected as the US president in 2016. Her son Robert Trump was born in 1948, he is the president of his father's property management company.
