The heartening writer was born on March 24, 1975, in Washington, the USA to Linda Hall and Larry Johnston. Although she was born in the USA she was raised in England. Growing up Michelle hoped to be a writer and illustrator.
Harrison joined Staffordshire University and after studying illustration there she worked as a barmaid in an art gallery and then as a children’s bookseller and an assistant editor for children’s book publisher.
From an early age she was interested in writing so she attended Circle in the Square Theatre School in New York. She is also a lead singer in a country rock band called Ginger 66.
