American singer, songwriter and an actress, Michelle Phillips is known as a member of the pop group "The Mamas and the Papas," composed of her husband John Philips, along with Cass Elliot and Denny Doherty. She is the second child of Joyce Leon (née Poole), an accountant and Gardner Burnett Gilliam, a merchant marine. Phillips mother died when she was 5. Besides her musical career, she made her film debut in 1971 with “The Last Movie,” starring Dennis Hopper. Philips publicly protested the Iraq war and stated her belief that president George W.
