Rooney Mara is an American actress. She is the daughter of Timothy Christopher Mara and Kathleen McNulty. Rooney completed her degree from NYU in 2010. She was inspired to act from classic movies and musical theater such as Rebecca, Gone with the Wind and Bringing Up Baby. At the age of nineteen, Rooney played her screen debut in the slasher film “Urban Legends: Bloody Mary” with her sister. Mara appeared as Lisbeth Salander in “The Girl with the Dragon Tatto”.
Rooney Mara was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress and Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in Motion Picture Drama.
