Sade Adu is a Nigerian-British singer who has multiple Grammy awards to her name. She is the lead vocalist of her band Sade.
Sade Adu's Early Life And Career
Sade Adu is the daughter of Adebisi Adu, a Nigerian lecturer in economics, and Anne Hayes, an English district nurse. She attended Clacton County High School.
In May 1983, Sade performed her first US show at the Danceteria nightclub in New York City. Her popular album 'Diamond Life' was released on 16th July 1984 and reached number two on the UK Album Chart, sold over 1.2 million copies in the UK, and won the Brit Award for Best British Album in 1985.

The singer moved to the Caribbean to live with Bob Morgan, a Jamaican music producer in the late 1990s, but they separated. The couple has a daughter named Mickailia “Ila” Adu (born 1995) who studied at Wycliffe College in the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire.
In 2016, on National Coming Out Day, her daughter Mickailia came out as a transgender man. Her transgender son was married in 2021.
