Samuel Inkoom Biography

Samuel Inkoom is a Ghanaian professional football player who plays for the national team. He represented the Ghana national team since 2008. He has got some mind-blowing tactical skills which make him the best player on the team. He has been to the winner's squad that has won several titles such as 2009 FIFA U20 World Cup, the finalist of the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations, as well as the winner of the Swiss Super League.

Early Life And Career Of Samuel Inkoom

Samuel Inkoom was born on June 1. 1989 in Sekondi-Takoradi, Ghana. With interest in football from the young age, he joined Junior Juventus Academy in 1999. He played in the youth set-up Juventus for one season then enrolled at Windy Professionals Football Academy and trained there for seven years.

He started his senior career in 2007 joining the local club Sekodi Hasaacas, but he did not get to play any game for the club. Then in 2008, he transferred to Asante Kotoko competing in the Ghanian Premier League. He played 26 games for the club netting seven goals.

On April 26, 2009, he moved to FC Basel in the Swiss Super League signing a three-year contract. On July 12, 2009, he debuted for the club against FC St. Gallen which his team lost 2-0. He was part of the club's double trophy winning squad in 2010.

He joined FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk of the Ukrainian Premier League on January 23, 2011. Inkoom moved to French Ligue 1 club Bastia in 2003. For the 2014-15 season, he was loaned to Platanias for six months.

In September 2014, Inkoom transferred to D.C. United playing in the Major League Soccer on a free transfer. He only appeared in two matches for the club. He had a brief spell with Boavista of the Portuguese Primeira Liga and Turkish club Antalyaspor in 2015 and 2016 respectively.

Inkoom signed with Vereya club of Bulgaria on February 24, 2017, and played until June debuting for the club on February 26 against Ludogorets Razgrad.

The Bulgarian Football Union banned Inkkoom from playing football for a year after FIFA released a legal notice regarding his actions while playing for D.C United. He had caused $65,316 worth of damage to a real estate while he was playing for D.C United.

Samuel Inkoom's International Career

He got his first cap for Ghana playing in the U-17 team also known as Black Starlets. He played for Ghana National U-20 appearing in 6 matches including the 2009 African Youth Championship in Rwanda. The U-20 team of Ghana also known as the Black Satellites went on to win the Cup for the first for Africa and Ghana, beating Brazil in the penalty shoot out. He made senior team debut against Tunisia on November 20, 2008.

He also represented Ghana in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. His team managed to reach the finals but failed to win the title losing to Ivory Coast.

Samuel Inkoom is a family man and is married to Omega Inkoom since 2006. He took to Instagram to announce his 12th marriage anniversary posting a picture with his wife on May 24, 2018.

It seems the Ghanaian Right-back married at the age of 16. The couple shares three children, two sons, Shawne Inkoom and Samuel Inkoom Jr.and a daughter, Samuelina Inkoom.
