An American writer and producer, Sidney Sheldon was married to Alexandra Joyce Kostoff. He was born to father Ascher “Otto” Schechtel, a manager of a jewelry store, and mother Natalie Marcus. Sidney completed his high school studies from East High School (Denver) and then went to Northwestern University. He dropped out from the University after six months of studies. Sidney used to write short plays while at college.
Sidney Sheldon won an Academy award for "The Bachelor" and "Bobby Soxer" in 1947. The Patty Duke Show, I Dream of Jeannie, Hart to Hart, Master of the Game, The Other Side of Midnight, Rage of Angels are some of his notable works. After turning 50, he started finding greater success with his romantic novels and also had some best selling ones. He was married thrice during his lifetime. Sheldon died in 2007.
