Tara Brown is an Australian television presenter, who graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor of Arts (Communication) Degree in 1989. She joined Channel Seven’s Sydney newsroom as an assistant after her graduation. In 1999, Brown moved to WIN Television in Wollongong after she undertook a cadetship in journalism and in 2001, she became a reporter on the Nine Network’s 60 Minute programme. The first person brown ever interviewed on 60 Minutes was Mel Gibson. Tara was arrested in April on allegations of child abduction in Lebanon along with three of her colleagues — producer Stephen Rice, sound recordist David Ballment and cameraman Ben Williamson.
Brown was married to TV producer John McAvoy and is a mother to two children. On 25 October 2008 she gave birth to her first child, son Jack Cooper and on 12 December 2010, she gave birth to her second din To Oliver.
According to sources, the Channel Nine Journalist’s Tara Brown ended her 16 years of marriage with John before she was jailed in Lebanon after a botched child abduction. The marriage broke down under the pressure of Brown constantly working away from home, the source said.
