Theodore Tillmann “Ted” Shackelford III is an American actor, who began as a replacement performer for the actor, David Ackroyd on the television series, Dallas. He is best known for his portrayals of Gary Ewing in the CBS television series Knot Landing, which he played from 1979 to 1993. Since 2006, he has appeared in a recurring role on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless, portraying twin brother William and Jeffrey Bardwell.
Ted Shackelford married his first wife Janis Levernz in 1976 but the couple got divorced in 1987.
