Thomas "Tom" Fuentes was a Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 2004 till 2008. He is a 2007 graduate of the FBI’s National Executive Institute. He graduated from Governors State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, Business Administration and Public Service Administration. He got the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society of Asian Federal Officers, in 2013.

Tom Fuentes from 2014 worked as an Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI) till his retirement in 2008. Before that, he served as Special Agent in Charge of the Indianapolis Division of the FBI. In 2007 he graduated from FBI's National Executive Institue and a member of the FBI National Academy Associates.
Fuentes served for 29 years in the FBI including 11 years as a member of the U.S Government's Senior Executive Service.
From 2006- 2009, he worked as a member of the Executive Committee of Interpol. After his retirement from FBI, he joined CNN as Law Enforcement Analyst. He often speaks on-air for CNN about U.S. and international law enforcement and national security matters.
Besides, Fuentes was an executive consultant to Deloitte Consulting, Inc., Tate, Inc. and Palantir Technologies, Inc. He was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society of Asian Federal Officer in 2013. The same year he took on the job as the Vice President of Morris & McDaniel for International Development.
