Vinita Chandra Nair is an American TV journalist and is a correspondent for New York-based CBS News. She has co-hosted CBS’s “This Morning Saturday” alongside Anthony Mason. She is married and has a son.
Early Life and Education
Nair was born on September 8, 1981, Evanston, Illinois, U.S. She is an American and has an Indian descent. She grew up in Colleyville, Texas.
Nair attended the Medill School of Journalism, of Northwestern University. She graduated with a degree in journalism from the University.
Career
Nair started her career as a journalist. She wrote for Today's Chicago Woman magazine and served as a reporter for Talk Radio in Washington D.C. She became an anchor and correspondent for ABC’s News Now in 2007. She served as a co-anchor off World News Now and America This Morning on ABC for three years.
Nair recently served as a co-anchor of CBS’ This Morning Saturday alongside Anthony Mason. She also worked as a correspondent for CBS’ Newspath.
Prior to joining CBS, Nair initially worked for WGEM-TV as a general assignment reporter. She also worked for several cable networks including WYCC-TV, Evanston Community Cable Channel, and KOLN/KGIN-TV, where she anchored daily morning and afternoon newscasts.
