Wanda Sykes is a married woman as of now. She is married to a Frenchwoman named Alex Niedbalski. The lesbian pair tied the knot on October 2008.

Sykes underwent breast-reduction surgery in February, where she was diagnosed with breast cancer, in its initial stage. After the surgery, the doctors sent her tissue samples in for tests in a standard procedure but to their surprise, it tested positive for DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ).
Sykes was informed about the diagnosis via a phone call and she was shocked by the revelation.
The doctors couldn’t pinpoint where the DCIS was because of the procedures through which reductions are done, so the breast reduction was not possible.

Wanda also has a history of breast cancer in her family. So she was ready to undertake any sort of challenges to reduce her chances of getting invasive cancer. The doctor suggested the removal of both of her breasts.
