The White House Secret Service took to Twitter shortly later the incident confirming the death of the man at the scene.

Many media outlets reported that according to the White House deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley, both president Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were out of Washington D.C. at the time of the incident.
BBC reported that Mr. Trump and wife Melania were at Mar-a-Lago, Florida and they were scheduled to return for a dinner on Saturday evening.
