Since starting his onscreen journey as a kid with the 80s soap opera Dynasty, Lawrence has carved a pretty stellar career in television. The actor's profile includes extensive film credits, like Money Plane, Trucker, The Comebacks, and more, but Mathew is better known as a television star.  

Matthew William Lawrence was born on February 11, 1980, in Abington Township, Pennsylvania. He kicked off his career as a child actor and landed his breakthrough in the Robin Williams comedy Mrs. Doubtfire in 1993. Aside from his thriving stint on the small screen, the Pennsylvania-born actor has also dabbled in music and in recent times, ventured into a reality show with Worst Cooks in America. Lawrence's professional endeavors hardly make it to the news, but the actor is often in the headlines for his personal life.

Lawrence shot to fame early in his career and also started diving in the dating pool around the same time. It is no surprise that the 90s heartthrob has had an exciting and quite high-profile love life and still continues to stir some drama-filled headlines. Lawrence's earliest-known flame happens to be his Boy Meets World co-star Danielle Fishel, who he started dating in 1999. The couple kept their relationship a secret while dating and it only became known after Fishel opened up about it in 2022.    

"The only person on the show I ever had a romantic relationship with was Matthew Lawrence," Danielle confessed, adding, "we did not want it to be a big deal on the set. [But] I went to his prom. Our moms were friends. It was cute." After Fishel, Matthew entered a notable relationship with soap opera star Heidi Mueller in the early 2000s. The television pair were even engaged for two years before calling it quits in 2006.    

Lawrence's best-known romance came in 2007 when he started dating professional dancer Cheryl Burke, who he met when his brother, actor Joey Lawrence, competed in Dancing with the Stars in 2006. The couple's romance fizzled out within a year, with the pair going separate ways in 2008- only to rekindle their relationship after almost a decade in 2017. The Boy Meets the World alum and the pro dancer gave each other another chance in 2017 but soon realized the mistake they had made.   

Lawrence and Burke would gush about each other endlessly after they reignited their love and even addressed their future together while still in their early dating bliss. "We really want to do it right. We want to do the steps of being engaged, moving in together, getting married, and having kids," the pro dancer said. The pair announced their engagement in May 2018 and tied the knot after a year at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar in San Diego.   

The pair were seemingly doing fine despite a few bumps during the quarantine and celebrated some milestones- like commemorating their first anniversary by adopting a puppy. Burke even kept her marriage an open book in her podcast Pretty Messed Up, which was why fans were taken aback when the duo's divorce news was announced in February 2022. The estranged pair's divorce was finalized in September 2022.  

Who Is Matthew Lawrence Dating?  

A year after his separation from Burke, the Boy Meets World alum is already in a happy, committed relationship. Lawrence's new and brewing romance with R&B group TLC's Chilli has caught the internet's attention- not only because of the actor's ability to jump-start a new relationship but also due to Burke's jilted lover attitude about it. "That was fast," Burke wrote after the news of her ex-husband and Chilli's romance became public.   

The Brotherly Love actor recently got candid about his relationship with Chilli, whose real name is Rozonda Ocielian Thomas. Calling the TLC fame a "wonderful woman," the actor revealed that it was a big snowstorm that brought them together on the same flight. "Really, it was the flight talking and then afterward saying, 'Hey, you know what? Let's keep in contact," Lawrence said in his recent interview.  

The actor further gushed, "my life is in complete bloom right now. I get to spend time with an amazing woman like Chilli. I've never gotten to be able to experience that kind of relationship before." You might think the pair would want to take it slow because their relationship is almost brand new, but Matthew's statement says otherwise. The actor is already looking forward to starting a family with the singer.
