Morgan Evans and Kelsea Ballerini look like the ideal couple anyone would be envious of. While Evans is a renowned country singer with several awards under his belt, his wife, Ballerini, a country-pop singer, has also had a stellar stint since her debut in 2014. But before we judge the book by its cover and be disappointed by the duo's unraveling marriage, let us reveal to you that Evans and Ballerini's relationship fell apart because of their differing interests.  

Evans, 37, a native of Newcastle, New South Wales, married Ballerini, 29, from Knoxville, Tennessee, in 2017. Fast forward to 2022, and the twosome have already pulled the plug on their relatively short marriage. Sources have now revealed how the fiber of the couple's relationship started coming loose a long time ago and how Morgan and Kelsea kept it all bottled up until they couldn't anymore.

A whirlwind romance may have been a good idea for many, but not for the country singer pair, who got hitched after only a year of dating. Morgan and Ballerini met and connected as the co-hosts of Australia's Country Music Channel Awards in March 2016. Evans probably liked what he saw as Kelsea recalls the singer's swift move. "He was like, 'Let's take a shot,'" Ballerini recounts before revealing how she reciprocated Morgan's offer. "I remember taking that shot and putting it down and looking at him like, 'Oh … he's superhot,' Kelsea says.   

Of course, the pair hit it off immediately and by late 2016, Evans and Ballerini were already official. It had only been a month since their relationship was out in the open, and the two went on to surprise their fans with the announcement of their engagement in December 2016. "This morning, 9 months and 13 days later, he got down on one knee in the kitchen while I was burning pancakes and asked me to marry him," Ballerini wrote while sharing the news.    

The Peter Pan crooner adds, "Loving him has been the greatest gift of my life. And now I get to do it for life." Morgan and Ballerini exchanged their vows on December 2, 2017, at Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, with their close friends and family in attendance. The pair's dreamy wedding included some new ideas, including their tequila theme ambiance and their handwritten vows.    

The country singers were now ready to become a powerhouse couple in the industry and their first collaboration, Dance With Me, only confirmed their approaching feat. The musical duo crossed many milestones like buying their first house together in 2020 and weathered some hilarious yet scary incidents, including a bat encounter in their home. Evans and Kelsea seemingly battled the mundane troubles of a married couple but kept it under wrap.    

"We approach our relationship so differently, but [Evans] shows up — he shows up in every way he needs to," the American singer last said about her Australian husband. Kelsea shares how she doesn't view her marriage "as a fairytale-esque, ride-off-into-the-sunset kind of thing, "It's work, but it's worth it," she said. The 29-year-old singer filed for divorce from Morgan in August 2022.  

Why did Morgan Evans and Kelsea Ballerini's Marriage fall apart?  

Why does a relationship falls apart if the people involved are equally keen to make it work? Sources explain both Evans and Ballerini tried to save their marriage, but one thing turned out to be a deal breaker. "Kelsea was very young and naive when she met Morgan, they clicked right away, but their relationship was always an emotional roller-coaster," a source close to Ballerini said. Now, before you jump into suspecting Morgan's faithfulness, let us assure you that infidelity wasn't the cause. 

The source reveals how the disagreements on having children ended their four years of marriage. Morgan was reportedly ready to welcome a brood with the singer a long time ago, and it was Ballerini, who had problems with becoming a parent. "They had been having issues, relating to each other and trouble being kind to each other, but the disagreement over kids was the nail in the coffin," the insider says.   

"This deeply difficult decision is the result of a journey of love, growth, and effort that ultimately has come to an end," Ballerini wrote while revealing her decision to split from Evans. She adds, "it's hard to find the words here...but I feel extremely grateful for the years of marriage to Morgan and hopeful for the next seasons." The estranged pair have since finalized their divorce and Kelsea has even found herself a new man it seems. The singer was linked with actor Chase Stokes earlier this year.
