2017 has become a busy year for Liris Crosse and now, with her new triumph, she's broken all the stereotypes of models and fashion icons.
This Randallstown native first stepped into the competitive modeling industry as a big transition back in 2015 when she competed in a plus-sized fashion show but didn't win it.
But this season, the Project Runway took in all types of model, ranging from size 0 to 22, throughout the season. Liris took all the attention in the entire show and ended up winning it as well. After the results were announced, Crosse was on cloud nine and shared her happiness and excitement stating,
"I feel on top of the world.It’s a win for a girl from Baltimore who had a dream and stuck to it. I can’t wait to bring these hips and lips to the pages of Marie Claire for a major model diversity moment. I’m going to put my all into that shoot when it’s time."
The stunner also received Model of the Year Award in Full Figured Fashion Week, 2017 held in June in NY. She looks strikingly similar to famous model Naomi Campbell and hence is now dubbed as The Naomi Campbell of the Plus-Size Modelling world.
She recalls her hardships back in those days when she was always rejected for her voluptuous shape and now winning the show made her break all the barriers, turning her into a famous personality among fans of Emmy-winning fashion designing show, with host Heidi Klum.
