Olympian Tom Daley and his husband Dustin Lance Black have announced they are expecting their first baby together.
The 23-year-old diving champion and his filmmaker partner, 43, confirmed the happy news on Instagram with Valentine's Day photos.
Tom shared a snap of the couple holding an ultrasound scan on his Instagram while later, Dustin shared a similar photo on his wall with the caption: 'A very happy #ValentinesDay from ours to yours.'
The couple shared the snap of their child's ultrasound which suggests they are surrogating the child instead of adopting. However, they haven't mentioned the surrogate mother.
According to Daily Mail, the baby's development of the baby in the ultrasound suggests that the picture was taken around the 20th week and they are going to welcome their first child at the start of the summer.
Tom's spokesman said:
Tom and Dustin are thrilled to share that they are expecting their first child in 2018.
Previously, the couple had shared that they wanted to have children and give their son or daughter the same childhood as they experienced. Daley said,
We are both lucky to have supportive families and we want to share that with our own children.
Dustin told OUT Magazine in 2016:
We were so busy making all these plans-we both wanted to have children; we both wanted to build a home of our own someday.
In December 2013, Daley came out of the closet in a YouTube video where he revealed he had been in a relationship with Dustin since earlier that year. Daley and Dustin became engaged on October 1, 2015, and they tied the knot on 6th May 2017.
