Nia Long and Ime Udoka have decided to go their separate ways.

As per Daily Mail, Nia Long and her fiance Ime Udoka have decided to go their separate ways.

The former Boston Celtics head coach is said to have had an affair with a female employee working for the team, which resulted in the end of Long and Udoka's relationship, which lasted for over 12 years.

Despite the tragic and painful circumstances, Nia is giving all her attention to her children and putting her life back together. In addition, a representative for Long has confirmed that the pair "is no longer together but is completely dedicated to co-parenting their son named Kez Sunday Udoka."

The couple's separation came after The Boston Celtics addressed Udoka's ban in September at a news conference.

Long stated in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that she gave the previous week, "I believe the most distressing part about all of this was seeing the face of my kid when the Boston Celtics organization chose to make a very private problem public."

The Boston Celtics published a statement regarding Udoka's instant suspension from the team in September, just a few short weeks before the start of the 2022-23 NBA season. During that time, they stated that Udoka had breached "team policies," and they mentioned that his future with the team would be considered.

ESPN reported moments before the Celtics announcement was made public that Udoka "had a role in an intimate connection with a female member of the franchise's staff."

Udoka later provided a statement regarding the alleged romantic relationship with Malika Andrews of ESPN. He expressed his regret by saying, "I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for letting them down. I am sorry for placing the squad in this tough situation, and I respect the team's choice."

In the final part of his message, he said, "Out of respect for everyone concerned, I will have no more remark."

After the news broke, Long released a statement to PEOPLE.

During this challenging time, the outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and the community means a lot to me, Nia said in an interview with PEOPLE. "As I attempt to make sense of all that's happened recently, I would appreciate your consideration for my need for privacy. First and foremost, I am a mother, and raising my kids will always be my priority."

Long and Udoka had been engaged since 2015 and had already welcomed one kid together, a son named Kez. The first time the actress and the former head coach crossed paths was in February of 2010 when Udoka was still active in the professional basketball league and playing for the Sacramento Kings.

Long told a reporter from TMZ Sports in June of the following year that the couple was "taking our time" with wedding arrangements.

In August 2023, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star filed for full custody of their son Kez in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
