Golden Globe Winning-Actress Raquel Welch No More

Raquel Welch, widely recognized for her portrayal in Hollywood films including 'Fantastic Voyage,' has died after struggling with a brief illness. One of her representatives confirmed the news of her death. Welch is survived by her two kids, Tahnee and Damon.

The curvaceous and sultry looks made her a household name as a leading sex symbol in the 1960s and 70s. She's no other than Raquel Welch, who passed away at 82. After her followers heard about her death, they were devasted.

Early on the morning of Wednesday, Raquel's manager, in a statement, confirmed that the lady died peacefully. Without giving much explanation, her representative said," Her career spanned over 50 years starring in over 30 films and 50 television series and appearances."

"The Golden Globe winner, in more recent years, was involved in a very successful line of wigs. Raquel Welch, the legendary bombshell actress of film, television, and stage, passed away peacefully early this morning after a brief illness," he continued.

Two Golden Globe Award winner Reese Witherspoon poured her heart out via a tribute post to the late film star, telling her fondness for her. "So sad to hear about Raquel Welch's passing. I loved working with her on Legally Blonde. She was elegant, professional, and glamorous beyond belief. Simply stunning. May all her angels carry her home."

Talking about his career, the recipient of a Golden Globe has landed a role in about 50 TV series and 30 movies. The lady continued to devote herself to acting with the same passion that led her to a successful career. Playboy ranked her No.3  on their '"100 Sexiest Stars of the Twentieth Century" list.

Even though the actress had only a handful of lines of dialogue, the photos of her special appearance in a fur-skinned bikini established her as the highest-selling pin-up that changed her into a worldwide sex symbol. Born Jo Raquel Tejada in 1940, Raquel rose to stardom in the mid-1960s, which is mainly credited with ending the industry's powerful promotion of the blonde, as per TMZ.
