Jonnie Irwin Says He Was Let Go From A Place in the Sun after He Revealed His Terminal Cancer 

Jonnie Irwin, a host of BBC's Escape to the Country, opened up about his lung cancer that has spread to his brain. Recently, Let Go From A Place In The Sun gave him the boot after the sad news.

Jonnie Irwin kept his cancer diagnosis under the radar for two years, fearing he would miss out on television work if bosses found out how serious his illness was.  The guy first noticed his health was degrading while shooting the episode of "Place  in The Sun" in Italy.

The former A Place in the Sun star told the home abroad that shows executive was expelled when he was ill and disclosed Irwin prevented announcing his identification as he was determined to make sure he could provide for his family.

As per the source, Jonnie insisted the show's head didn't renew his contract after his diagnosis. The decision broke his heart and left him feeling let down as much as he isn't interested in the show.

The father of three, 49, told the outlet last week he is dying from terminal cancer. However, he has now revealed why it took long to tell the media. He was given six months to live in 2020 after his diagnosis of lung cancer.

Further, Jonnie who is under a condition in which cancer spreads to his brain. Medication, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy have kept him alive longer than expected. " I don't know how long I have left," he spoke about the hope which inspires everyone to make the most of every day.

Not to mention, Irwin worked on projects like Escape to the Country despite his time on the show ending. He felt he had to ensure his wife Jess and his family were secured following his death. "I want to go knowing that Jess  and the boys are looked after," Irwin frankly told the Sun.

To add more, Jonnie continued with his decision, leaving him feeling huge and let down. Despite his time on the show ends, the host worked on the show as Escape to the Country. He described ensuring his wife Jess and his family were secure after death.

Describing to the show producer, Jonnie was disheartened and desperate to prove he could continue working. " We don't think we can get the insurance. We cant get the insurance, but we don't think," Irwin said. Also, Irwin continued that he decided against talking about his tragic news earlier.
