Not only this, both the couple went onto a successful solo career with Michael authoring the popular Gone series, and Applegate authored the Newbery Medal-winning book The One and Only Ivan.
How Did Michael Grant Met Katherine Applegate?
It was love at first sight! Michael said his future wife was finishing college with some made-up major. She was coming off a hobo phase where Michael lived under a freeway overpass off I35.

The BZRK author knocked on her door and pretended he needed a can opener. The duo went on to the late, lamented Les Amis for a beer. Then, twenty-four hours later, the two started living together. The happy marriage of over forty years resulted in two children whose identity is not yet revealed.
Katherine Applegate Is Also An Author
The dynamic husband-and-wife duo co-authored the book "Animorphs series" in the 1990s, which sold more than 35 million copies worldwide only in 2012.

As per Michael, it just became a part of his domestic life that there's a lot of yelling and arguing when working with his wife.
