Rumer Willis is Expecting Her First Child with Boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas

Congratulations are in order for actress Rumer Willis and her longtime boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas, who recently announced that they are expecting their first child. The soon-to-parents are over the moon and clearly out of words as they post a string of pictures announcing their first pregnancy. The first picture shows singer Derek wrapping his hands around Rumer's baby bump as he kisses it with a sweet smile; another features Willis's pregnant silhouette as she stands near the window.

The actress-singer's post was soon flooded with hundreds of wishes from her fans and fellow stars. Actor Aaron Paul writes, "I’m so happy for you, my friend. Such beautiful news. Congrats." Brittany Snow comments, "congrats, beauty." Peta Murgatroyd also chimes in, commenting, "I love you so much. You will be the most magical Mumma."

Rumer's mom, actress Demi Moore expressed her happiness by reposting her daughter's post. The Indecent Proposal actress captions, "Entering my hot kooky unhinged grandma era." Rumer and Derek's upcoming baby will be Moore and her ex-husband Bruce Willis's first grandchild. The ex-spouses share two more daughters, Scout, 31, and Tallulah, 28. Moore's ex-husband, Willis, 67, shares two daughters, Evelyn, 8, and Mabel, 10, with his current wife, Emma Heming Willis.

Rumer is Moore and Willis's oldest daughter. She was born almost a year after her famous parents tied the knot in November 1987. The iconic couple split ways in 2000 but have since remained amicable and created a blended family.
Best known for her roles in Hostage, The House Bunny, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Rumer has been linked to singer Derek since 2020.  

The Willis family evoked much joy among fans when Moore and her ex-husband spent the quarantine together and made the dreadful period a little positive with their frequent lovable posts. In a previous interview, singer-actress Rumer opened up about her superstar father's longing to become a grandfather. 

Rumer and Derek have been dating since 2020!  

"Over the quarantine, he was like, ‘So I’d like for you to have a son because I need some male energy in this group," Rumer said while referring to Bruce's wish to see a boy child after having zero luck in welcoming one. The House Bunny actress added, "But it’s important to wait. I think it’s so important not to rush in and have it be about the lust or about, you know, that immediate connection, then building a real foundation."

After years of speculations about his declining health, Rumer revealed her father's diagnosis with aphasia and his retirement earlier this year. "he has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities," Rumer wrote in a post. The actress added, "as a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him."Rumer and the Willis family statement further read, "This is a really challenging time for our family, and we appreciate your continued love, compassion, and support."
