Steve Levy, Ray Donovan's Actor Dies at 58 After Battle With Nose Cancer
The entertainment industry has lost a gem named Steve Levy. He made a mark in the show-biz through his variety of versatile roles he played through different movies and TV series.

Steve Bean, the famous actor, and comedian died on Jan. 21, 2019, in his house in Los Angeles. The actor was fighting a battle with cancer. He was 58 years of age at the time of his demise.

Bean was diagnosed with sino-squamous cell carcinoma (nose cancer) back in late 2016. The kind of cancer the actor was diagnosed with is one of the rarest forms of the incurable disease.
He let the world know about the hardships of his cancer journey and treatment in a personal essay, "My Year Without a Nose," which he wrote for Mel Magazine. He wrote the essay just five months prior to his death.
He penned in the essay,
"Attempting to smell the roses when sino-nasal squamous cell carcinoma (aka nose cancer) has left me with a plastic imitation schnoz and put my life in peril.
He added,
"If you’re keeping track at home, I’ve now lost my nose, my tear ducts, my upper palate and gums, all but four of my teeth, my appetite, my right cheekbone, much of my right jawbone, much of my right cheek, my eyebrows and moustache (chemo), the feeling in my upper lip (surgery), most of the motor control of the right side of my face (surgery) and some hearing in each ear (chemo). I also lost about 40 pounds, and worst of all, I lost my sense of humor."
Steve Bean contributed his writing to shows like the Tim Conway Show and ABC’s Dot Comedy. He explored his talents as an actor through TV series like Quantum Leap, Murder She Wrote, Married with Children and Monk, and the Bobcat Goldthwait comedy Shakes the Clown. Levy's latest appearances were on the episodes of Shameless and Ray Donovan.

Levy was taken care through his cancer journey by his wife, Caroline Carrigan, son Jacob and his parents, Irwin and Dorothy Levy, among many other family members including his sisters and their husbands, nieces, and nephews and great niece.
Hollywood surely lost one of the most valuable actors. However, his phenomenal contribution to the industry is bound to keep shining on through the ages.
