Will Smith slaps Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars. After the show, Tifanny Haddish praised Jada's husband and called the show-stopping moment the 'most beautiful thing I've ever seen.'

The 94 th Academy Awards was full of unexpected winners and celebrity interactions; however, a moment shocked the audience more than anything. Tiffany Haddish defended Will Smith for standing up for his wife at the Oscars 2022.

Well, Tiffany appreciated the Collateral Beauty actor for publicly smacking Chris Rock over an offensive joke he made about Jada Pinkett Smith's shaved bald head in an interview with Variety.

Like A Boss actress told the magazine, "Maybe the world might not like how it went, but for me, it was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen because it made me believe that there are still men out there that love and care about their women, their wives."

"Would you do that for your wife? He didnt even run the joke by her, but she was hurt though?,"  explaining that Chris should've reached out to the couple as a friend. Also, Haddish continued," If Jada hadn't been hurt, Will probably wouldn't have said nothing."

"When I saw a black man stand up for his wife. That meant so much to me," Haddish was seen talking to Pinkett Smith during a commercial break at the Oscars following the altercation.

Further, Haddish added," As a woman, who has been protected, for someone to say, Keep my wife's name out your mouth, leave my wife alone,' that's what your husband is supposed to do, right? Protect you."

The moment took place when Chris Rock said," Jada, I love you, G.I Jane 2, Jada, cant wait to see it". Jada, who had her battle with alopecia, was visibly bothered by the insensitive joke.

Later, The King Richard star walked on stage and slapped Chris." Will Smith just smacked the shi* out of me," the comedian said as Will came back to his seat. Smith shouted, "Keep my wife's name out your f*cking mouth!".

The Academy reacted to the situation and condemned the altercation by issuing the statement on their official Twitter handle," The Academy does not condone violence of any form." Later, Haddish told the publication that the controversial Oscars moment meant the world to her.

Following the altercation, Smith went on to win the Oscar for Best Actor and apologized to the Academy and his fellow nominees during his speech but not to Rock.
