Tristan Thompson Reaches Paternity Settlement with Baby Mama Maralee Nichols
Tristan Thompson signs a paternity settlement for his second-youngest child: The NBA player's paternity scandal has been going on since last year!
Tristan Thompson's messy paternity suit has finally come to a wrap. After more than a year-long battle, the Chicago Bulls player and his second youngest kid, Theo's momma, Maralee Nichols, have reportedly agreed on terms for their son. The 31-year-old basketball player has reportedly been ordered to pay $9,500 a month in child support and cover Nichols' lawyers' fees. Maralee has been granted sole custody of the child, and there's no verdict on any visitation plan.
The paternity scandal blew up Thompson's relationship with Khloe Kardashian last year. The duo, who share a 4-year-old daughter named True and recently welcomed a son, had an on-and-off relationship since September 2016. Khloe called it quits with Thompson after Nichols filed a paternity suit against the basketball player and claimed Tristan fathered her child while he was in Houston, Texas, celebrating his 30th birthday. The unprecedented situation got uglier when texts of Tristan manipulating his baby mama leaked.

"Btw if you think having this baby is gonna make you some money. It's completely wrong. You know I'm retiring after this season," Thompson's message to Maralee reads. The Chicago Bulls star further adds, "So you better off taking this 75k I'm offering cause you won't get nothing near that with having a kid with a father who's unemployed has zero involvement with the child."
"This is a very sad time for Khloé," a source said about the heartbroken Khloe, who by then was known for taking back Thompson each time he screwed up. The source added, "she really loves Tristan and still holds a candle for him. She thought he might have changed his ways." Although already cognizant that he was indeed the father of the then-unborn child, Thompson didn't come clean until after Theo's birth in December. "Today, a paternity test results revealed that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols," Tristan wrote in his story.
Addressing the Keeping Up with the Kardashian star, the 31-year-old added, "You don't deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don't deserve the way I have treated you over the years. My actions have certainly not lined up with how I view you." Insiders reported Tristan and Kardashian aren't romantically involved at the moment and are only together as parents to their two kids.
Earlier this year, in July, the pair's rep announced they were expecting a baby via surrogate. "The baby was conceived via surrogate before it was revealed to Khloé and the public that Tristan was having a baby with someone else in December," an insider shared. Thompson and Khloe's baby boy, whose name is yet to be revealed, was born in November. "I know it's cliché, but I love everything, even the hard parts," the Good American founder said after the birth of her son.
Aside from his three kids with the Keeping Up With the Kardashian star and Nichols, Tristan shares his oldest born, son Prince Oliver, with his ex-girlfriend model Jordan Craig, who also took the NBA player to court for child support and additional monthly payments. Thompson was ordered to cough out $40,000 monthly in child support until Prince reached 18.
