Victoria Gotti Reveals The Reason For Keeping Her Daughter's Death Out Of Her Biopic
Victoria Gotti revealed the real reason why she didn't want the death of her first daughter included in her biopic. She confessed that although the scene was not initially integrated into her life story, she was happy with the great projection of the incident.

Victoria Gotti's biopic Victoria Gotti: My Father’s Daughter is set to premiere on Saturday through Lifetime on Feb. 9. The biopic depicts her turbulent relationship with her father who was a late mob boss John Gotti.
The 56-year-old wrote and produced her life story and actually features in a role in the movie but there’s one scene even she couldn’t keep out of her story.

Gotti opened up to PEOPLE in a candid conversation about the special on Friday. She revealed she fought hard with Lifetime executives to exclude the tragic death of her first child, daughter Justine. The daughter was stillborn nine months after Gotti got married to then-husband Carmine Agnello in 1984.
She confessed,
“I didn’t want [that scene] in there, that was very painful to me. And it’s not about having to explain it or not wanting to explain it — I just felt like it’s mine, not yours. You didn’t know her.”
Gotti initially didn’t intend to include the devastating moment in the script of her life story, but somebody during the production found out about the incident during the seven-year development process. Now however Gotti seems pretty satisfied with how the moment is portrayed in the biopic.
Confirming which she told the media,
“They do it tastefully in the movie,”
She added,
“You see birth No. 1 which is bad, and then birth No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 — it’s done that way so it’s like, Oh she has a family now. So it’s not so bad. But that’s something I really wanted to be left out.”
Although the tragic moment found a place in Victoria Gotti: My Father’s Daughter, the decision to cut a scene about the demise of her best friend Roseanne came as a surprise to Gotti.

At the time, the two teenagers were not allowed to date. The young ladies sneaked out one night to the outskirts of the town and were caught by Roseanne’s brother.
The brother was driving under alcohol influence and met a deadly accident. Roseanne and her brother had an untimely demise as they hit a median in the road.
In an emotional tone, Victoria said,
“I remember looking at the shoe in the street on her leg, knowing it was her. And it just destroyed me.”
She reflected,
“That was an important scene to me because I felt it was meant to change fate completely, Here we were, two kids, not caring about consequences. … And then to have one of my closest friends killed right in front of me? I’d never been up close and personal with death. I was in such a state of shock. I didn’t even know how to tell my mother and father. I couldn’t say I was in the car with who I wasn’t supposed to be with. That whole scene was very pivotal to my life.”
The process of writing the self storied film was full of hardships for Gotti however she ultimately thinks it was worth the occasion for the world to view her in a different light.
