Sean Payton has seen darker in his marriage and now is relishing a better day in his life. Precisely, Sean was once a divorced man until he found the love of his life, Skylene Montgomery. The couple met at an NFL match for the first time between the Panthers and Saints in 2014.

Speaking of the matter, Sean got to his knees to propose to Skylene on November 8, 2019, during the occasion of her birthday party at the French Quarter restaurant in New Orleans. The duo went on to marry at the One&Only Palmilla, a resort on the Baja Peninsula alongside the Sea of Cortez in Mexico.

Sean Payton had shared the vows before meeting Skylene, his first wife is none other than Beth Shuey. The former flames got hitched on July 11, 1992. Five years later, on March 21, 1997, Shuey gave birth to the couple's first child, Meghan Payton.

It came as a surprise for Sean's suitors as it was divorce from his wife of nearly twenty years. The twosome met at her alma mater Indiana State University while Beth's former spouse was an assistant football coach. The marriage which was looking smooth got rocky and they called it quits on June 14, 2012.

Three years after they got hitched, on May 31, 2000, the couple welcomed a son named Connor Payton. Beth's life looked perfect with a loving and successful husband and two beautiful children. Their divorce looked to be destined as there was always a kind of friction in their relationship because of irreconcilable differences.

Sean Payton filed for divorce from Beth and asked for equal custody of their two children. The pair, who knew each other for six years, split; on June 26, 2012, the Indiana native did a counter-petition and requested primary custody of their kids and rights to make other special decisions such as children's medical care and education.

Nearly two years after filing, the divorce was finalized in 2014. The details of the nearly two years after filing are not revealed to the public. However, sources confirm that she received a 7,700 sq ft mansion worth $3.45 million in Texas.

Further, Beth also asked for a child's support, which was sure to be in six digits if granted. However, the exact figure is not disclosed publicly. The divorce from their celebrity husband, Shuey kept a low profile, and thus news regarding her personal life became secretive. Is she looking for a new husband?
