Amanda Lourenço Nunes is a Brazilian Mixed martial artist, currently fighting for the Ultimate Fighting Championship. She is the UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion. Amanda started her career at the age 4 with Karate and by 16, she entered into boxing. She first competed in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu after being invited by her sister, Shoo. In 2016, Amanda was awarded Equality Visibility Award.
Amanda Nunes is the first female Brazilian Champion as well as the first openly lesbian champion. She has been in a relationship with fellow UFC fighter Nina Ansaroff, who competes in the strawweight division. Nunes and Ansaroff have been together four years and never hidden their relationship, neither they feel the need to announce publicly that they were gay. They trained together, became close friends and fell in love and moved in together. When they met Nunes lived in the local gym and used a bicycle as transportation while Ansaroff was trying to work up through the MMA minor league. Talking about future they are planning to adopt and Ansaroff also wishes to carry their child but seems like they are not planning to get marriage soon.
