Charisma Carpenter is a daughter of Christine, a bird sanctuary worker and Don Carpenter, a salesman. She was born on July 23, 1970, in Loa Vegas, Nevada. She has two brothers, Troy and Ken and two nieces, Chrissy and Mackenzie.
She attended Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas. Since her childhood, she was interested in dancing and she was also the part of song and dance troupe which was performed in Las Vegas when she was nine years old.
Her family moved to Rosarito City, Mexico and then to San Diego, when she was fifteen years old. There she attended Bonita Vista High School and Chula Vista School of the Creative and Performing Arts. After her graduation, she traveled Europe and she returned to San Diego where she worked as a video store clerk.

When she was in San Diego in 1991, she and other two friends were attacked by former San Diego police officer and serial rapist Henry Hubbard Jr., who attended her two friends at the gunpoint. Her two friends and rapist were shot, forcing to flee the scene.
Her friends survived and rapist was arrested sentenced to 56 years in prison. She brought rapist’s police-issue flashlight from the beach, which he had left at the scene and the flashlight became a key piece if the evidence against him.

In 1994 Charisma Carpenter made her career debut from the popular American series Baywatch where she played the role of Wendie Sanders. She starred in the role on Aaron Spelling’s short-lived American primetime teen drama or soap opera Shores as Ashley Green in 10 episodes of the series.
