Jeremiah �Jerry� O�Connell is an American actor, producer, director, and writer. He is known for his role as Quinn Mallory in Tv series Sliders. He is extremely prominent for his role in �Stand by Me,� �My Secret Identity� and �Kangaroo Jack.� He is a hard working personality and has earned a respectable position in American T.V and film industry. He has also been nominated as one of the Young Artist for his performance.
Early life
Jerry is the son of Linda, an art teacher, and Michael O’Connell an advertising agency art director. O’Connell was raised in Manhattan with his younger brother, an actor Charlie O’Connell. He attended New York University majoring in filmmaking and acting. He and his brother were highly dedicated in the acting field since very young age.
Career
O’Connell stepped into the field of acting at a young age. As a child, he did commercial work for Duncan Hines cookies. At the age of 11, he landed his first feature film role, as the character Vern Tessi in Stephen King's Stand by Me.
At the initial phase of his career, he starred in several low-budget films including 'Ranger, the Cook and the Hole in the Sky.' In 1989 and 1990 he was nominated for 'Young Artist Awards' twice
He has also directed several episodes of 1999 TV series Sliders which he wrote and produced himself. Some the TV shows he featured in are Las Vegas, Ugly Betty, The Defender, We Are Men and much more. Recently in 2017, he featured in Hallmark Movie Love Locks.
Some of his big screen work are Mission to Mars, The New Guy, Room 6, Scary Movie 5 and much more.
Personal life
Moving into his personal life, he is a married man. O’Connell is married to actress and former model Rebecca Romijn since July 14, 2007. They met at a party on 2004, announced their engagement a year later and tied the knot in 2007.
Jerry and Rebecca have twin girls, Charlie Tamara Tulip O’Connell and Dolly Rebecca Rose born on December 28, 2008. They are living a happily married life with their two daughters with no sign of getting a divorce.
