A British R&B singer from Walsall, Jorja Smith, is a 19-year-old newcomer to the music industry. She earned attention with her hip-hop and R&B inspired debut single “Blue Lights’ and was followed by songs that fuse soul, blues and even classical. Many songs identified Smith out as her hero Amy Winehouse’s truest successor.
Early life
Jorja although being famous for her song in very young age has not shared much about her parents, her education, school, siblings. All that is known is that she belongs to a musical family as her father was a singer in a neo-soul group called Second Nature.
Career
Smith began performing at the age of 8 and writing songs since 11. One of the earliest songs she remembers writing was called 'High Street' which was about her hometown.
Jorja formed a music collective, OGHORSE and began releasing music online. She first released, Blue Lights, to Soundcloud in January 2016 when she was just 18 years old. It was followed up by the track A Prince featuring Maverick Sabre and then “Where Did I Go?” which was artist/rapper Drake's one of the favorite track at that moment.
Smith supported Drake on his UK tour at a show in Birmingham and then in London. In March 2017, she appeared on two tracks on Drake;s album More Life. Jorja was one of the 15 artists selected for the BBC’s 15 Sound of 2017 long list. She came 4th with Ray BLK as the winner. FACT Mag also named her as one of their 10 Pop and R&B artists to watch in 2017.

Talking about Jorja’s personal life, she has not shared much about it. Though it is unknown about her past relationship or affairs, it was rumored that she was dating artist/rapper Drake secretly. But it was no confirmed by both of them. The news came to the highlights as Drake let Jorja join his show and helped her a lot in her music career.
