Canadian film and television actor, Kim Coates portrayed Alex Trager on the hit FX series, Sons of Anarchy where he worked with Dimitri Diatchenko. He was born to Fred and Joyce Coates. He attended the University of Saskatchewan, where he enrolled in a drama course as an elective. He also played roles in A Streetcar Named Desire and Macbeth. Coates made his screen debut in the film The Boy in Blue in 1986. He had supporting roles in the 2010 horror film Resident Evil: Afterlife and the 2006 horror film, Silent Hill.
