A Spanish professional footballer who plays as the central defender for FC Barcelona and the Spain national team. He moved to FC Barcelona's youth system, La Masia when he was just 11 years old. In 2009 he was promoted to the B-team. He made his official debut with the main squad on 14 February 2010 which was laso his 19th birthday. After he scored his first goal for Barcelona's first team in 2011 he was promoted to the main roster for the 2012–13 campaign. He has also made 37 caps for Spain at youth level .
