American actor and singer, Matthew Broderick is the youngest winner of the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play. He also earned acclaim for his stage work in 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.' He struck gold at the Broadway box office opposite Nathan Lane in 'The Producers' and later in 'The Odd Couple'. He is two-time Tony Award winner and is well-known for playing the lead character in the 1986 success “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” and for voicing Simba in the Disney classic “The Lion King” (1994).
Early Life and Education
Actor, voice actor, film director, and singer, Matthew Broderick was born on 21st March 1962 in Manhattan, New York.He is the son of Patricia (née Biow), a playwright, actress, and painter, and James Broderick, an actor, and World War II veteran. Matthew also has a sister, Janet Broderick Kraft, an Episcopal priest.
His mother was Jewish, and father was a Catholic of Irish and English, descent. He studied grade school at City and Country School and high school at Walden School.
Career
Matthew Broderick began his acting role from an HBO Studio workshop production of playwright Horton Foote's On Valentine's Day.
In 1990, he voiced in Disney's successful animated film 'The Lion King', of the adult Simba and also voiced 'Tack the Cobbler 'in Miramax's controversial version of 'The Thief and the Cobbler.'
He appeared on Broadway as a college professor in 'The Philanthropist,' running April 10 through 28th June 2009.He made a comeback to the Broadway stage in Spring 2012, to star in the musical 'Nice Work If You Can Get It,' which was directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall.
In March 2010, Broderick featured in the NBC program 'Who Do You Think You Are?'.

Matthew Broderick married Sarah Jessica Parker, an actress, producer, and designer.
The couple met through her brother and married on 19th May 1997, in a civil ceremony in a historic deconsecrated synagogue on the Lower East Side.
The pair has a son named James Wilkie Broderick born in October 2002. Broderick and Parker also have two daughters, twin, Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge, in June 2009 through a surrogate mother. The lovebirds are living a happy life with their children.
On 5th August 1987, while driving a rented BMW in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, Mathew crossed into the wrong lane and collided head-on with a Volvo driven by Anna Gallagher, accompanied by her mother, Margaret Doherty, killing both instantly. Matthew was with his then girlfriend, Jennifer Grey.
Broderick said he had no memory of the accident. Later he was charged with careless driving and fined $175. The family of the victims called it a mockery of justice.
