Father’s Tragic Death

On September 11, 2003, the world lost John Ritter, a beloved actor who starred as Jack Tripper in the comedy series Three’s Company. He was 54 years old when he suffered from an aortic dissection, a rare and fatal condition that causes the inner layer of the main artery to tear and bleed internally. 

John Ritter died on September 11, 2003, in Burbank, CA at the age of 54.  

The star was filming his show “8 Simple Rules… for Dating My Teenage Daughter” when he felt sick and was rushed to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California. Unfortunately, he did not survive the surgery and died that same day.

His family accused two doctors of failing to diagnose and treat him properly and sued them for wrongful death. The case was settled out of court, with Ritter’s wife and children receiving $14 million from the hospital and eight other medical staff.
