Shakib Khan was Previously Married To Apu Biswas

Shakib Khan is one hell of an actor both on-screen and off-screen. His reel performance is appreciated and loved by fans, but when in real life, he acted to be single even when he was married for nine years broke many hearts.

In April 2017, superstar Apu Biswas gave a TV interview to a news outlet and claimed she is married to Shakib and is the mother of his child. 

The 30-year-old explained that the wedding took place on 18th April 2008 at Shakib's residence in the presence of his brother and a producer. More to that, before marriage, she converted to Islam and changed her name to Apu Islam Khan.

The "Koti Takar Kabin" actress further accused Shakib of pressuring her to keep their marriage under wraps. He argued that the revelation about their nuptials would negatively affect his careers. For the sake of his sucessful career, the star agreed to his then-husband request.

The dynamics for the actress began to change after she gave birth to the pair's first child. The baby boy Abraham Khan Joy was born on September 27, 2016, at a Kolkata clinic.

After bringing a new life into the world, Biswas felt uncomfortable hiding her relationship with Shakib. Thus, finally, she decided to come in front of the camera.

After the news broke, Shakib confirmed that Apu is his wife, and Abraham is his son. But he added that Apu betrayed him by making the revelation and now will not accept her in his life.

Shakib Khan Divorced His Wife After Ten Years Of Marriage

Shakib Khan sent the divorce letter to Biswas through his lawyer on November 28, 2017. In the letter, he said that he wants the full custody of his son as he accused Apu of being a negligent mother. He cited an incident where the star left their young child in the home and went on a trip to India.

Apu was surprised by the divorce letter but did not contest it. She, however, was not at all willing to give up her child. She claimed that his accusations of her being a bad mother are false. She said that she went to India for a medical visit, and taking a newborn on a medical trip was not appropriate.

The divorce was finalized on February 28, 2018, after three trials, and the couple settled on the mother having the full physical custody of their son. Shakib, however, gained the permission of visit.

The family court ordered Shakib to give the dower (Sen Mahr) to Apu Biswas as well as provide a means of support for her. Since he was already giving one lakh taka per month ($1177.16) to Apu for their son Abraham, so the court did not order any additional child support payments.
