American actor, author, and filmmaker, Woody Allen is the son of Nettie (née Cherry; 1906 – 2002), a bookkeeper, and Martin Konigsberg (1900 – 2001). Allen performed as a stand-up comedian to supplement his comedy writing from 1960 to 1969. Allen is the owner of a TV show named 'The Woody Allen Show' which began in 1965. In 1966, Allen wrote the play entitled 'Don't Drink the Water'.
