Let's time-travel back in 1999. During those days, Maddow was a struggling news host as she had just started radio hosting for WRNX (100.9 FM) in Massachusetts.
Also, she was doing odd jobs here and there for financial matters.
Coincidentally, Rachel got a job to work as a yard cleaner at one home in the Berkshires, southern England, West London.
It was the home of London's famous photographer, Susan Mikula.

Her job did help out her a lot, as she not only got some cash but she found someone special to share the rest of her life with.

The casual dates turned into romantic dinners and eventually they got into a committed relationship. Now the couple lives together in the Farm House in Massachusetts with their adorable dog, Poppy.

“I feel that gay people not being able to get married for generations, forever, meant that we came up with alternative ways of recognizing relationships. And I worry that if everybody has access to the same institutions that we lose the creativity of subcultures having to make it on their own. And I like gay culture.”

The liberal queen Rachel has topped charts with "The Rachel Maddow Show"
The first American news anchor and commentator, to ever come out of the closet and talk openly about her sexuality, Rachel Maddow has become the queen of all the liberal hearts, hosting the most-watched show, The Rachel Maddow Show.
Her outstanding reporting skills with low-key humor, rigorous research, and critical discussions made her the first gay host to have her own show on MSNBC cable network.

The famous television reviewer, Alessandra Stanley, even quoted:
"'Ms. Maddow's deep, modulated voice is reassuringly calm after so much shrill emotionalism and catfights among the channel's ageing, white male divas,"
Her show is based on her former radio show of the same title which was debuted on September 8, 2008, and the famous MSNBC's host, Keith Olbermann was the first guest on her show.
Also, the director of entertainment for a branding agency, Matt Delzell praised her uniqueness and boldness while reporting. He quoted,
"She's not afraid to criticize liberals despite being a liberal. That uniqueness and her underdog appeal draw people in, regardless of whether they agree with her opinions."
