A two-time Oscar-winning actor, George Clooney's career spans four decades and various fields. The silver-haired stud is also a director, producer, and businessman. Clooney's most notable credits include Syriana, Good Night and Good Luck, Argo, Up in the Air, and The Descendants.  

A sought-leading man and a certified Hollywood hunk in his prime, not that his alluring impact has become any less now, Clooney is now a married man and no longer the hottest bachelor in the industry. The Oscar winner has been happily married for the last eight years and is a doting father to two kids.

Clooney and Amal's story proves it's all about the right person and timing. The Syriana actor was once a restrained philanderer. The Oscar winner had suffered a failed marriage and was sure he'll never enter the conjugal ties again. But Clooney's attitude towards marriage changed when he met Amal Alamuddin, an accomplished human right lawyer, in a meet-up set by a mutual friend.    

The actor and the lawyer met in Clooney's native Italy. The Up in the Air actor recalls how a series of events led him to believe in "the one" and "destined for each other." George shares, first a friend of his asks to bring an acquaintance (Amal) over for their planned dinner, then Clooney's agent calls, talking about a strange premonition that he was going to marry the new guest. The pair's first meeting was, of course, a sparkling experience.

The twosome kept in touch for the following month and had their first romantic date in London in October 2013. The couple's low-key affair was already out in the air by then, but the pair being the mature team that they are, handled the inundating attention like a pro. Clooney and Amal kept their relationship strong and going for a few more months with several public appearances and a trip to Africa in early 2014. 

The Argo star got down on his knees during a date night at home in April 2014. Clooney says it took Amal twenty minutes before she could spit out the word yes. "Oh, my god, it was twenty minutes of me on my knees," the actor shares, adding, "she was so shocked." A smitten George even took on a stage while receiving a humanitarian award to express his happiness on soon becoming Amal's husband.    

"I met my lovely bride-to-be here in Italy, whom I will be marrying in Venice, of all places," George said. The actor adds, "I would like to say to my bride-to-be, Amal, I love you very much, and I can't wait to be your husband." The power couple walked down the aisle in a fantasy ceremony at Amal Canal Grande, Venice, on September 27, 2014. The twosome welcomed their kids, twins Ella and Alexander, on June 6, 2017.

Since welcoming their kids for five years, Clooney and Amal haven't made any public appearances. The pair's stern protective attitude toward their children stems from Amal's high-profile vocation. In late 2021, George had a rift with the British tabloid Daily Mail after they published the duo's kids' pictures. In an op-ed, the Oscar winner pleaded with the tabloid to refrain from such action as his wife's job as an international lawyer puts their family on the radar.   

The pair sparked pregnancy rumors after almost three years of being spouses in early 2017. It was soon revealed that the Clooney couple was expecting twins. The pair became first-time parents on June 6, 2017. "This morning Amal and George welcomed daughter Ella and son Alexander Clooney," the actor's rep said, adding, "Ella, Alexander, and Amal are healthy and happy."

Although little to nothing has been since revealed about Clooney's kids, the Golden Globe winner has often pondered on the life-changing experience that fatherhood has brought to him. "In marriage, and now with kids, you give away the selfishness of only looking out for yourself," the actor said. He adds, "It's a wonderful thing, Amal and I talk about it everyday."

The Descendants actor was married to actress Talia Balsam from 1983 to 1993. "I was like, 'I'm never getting married, and I'm not gonna have kids," George says while pondering his life before Amal. The actor shares that meeting the lawyer made him realize how empty and unfulfilled he was. After his three years marriage to Balsam, Clooney had many high-profile relationships and a few flings.   

The Oscar winner dated Kimberly Russel for three years. After their romance fizzled out, George didn't hesitate to jump into his new relationship with Celine Balitran, a law student who Clooney dated for over two years. The silver-haired dated Krista Allen in 2002, and amid their on-off relationship, Clooney even had a rapport going on with Lisa Snowdon.  

Coming to Clooney's more famous affairs, he was in a rumored relationship with actress Renee Zellweger. He popularly dated Cameron Diaz in 1995, the same year Clooney got romantically involved with Frances Fisher. Before meeting and falling hard for Amal in 2014, Clooney was fresh out of his two years long relationship with WWE personnel Stacy Keibler.
