On May 28, 1974, Alicia Minshew was born in Plantation, Florida, US. Her mother comes from an Italian family. Minshew entered the acting industry after receiving her diploma from South Fork High School, located in Stuart, Florida. She made this choice sometime after she had already graduated from high school.

Minshew was cast as Kendall Hart, the main character on the daytime soap All My Children, in November 2001. She made her first appearance in the role in December 2001, seven years after Sarah Michelle Gellar, the actress who had portrayed the role before her, had left the soap opera. 

Alicia made his debut in front of the camera in the episode that aired on January 8, 2002, and she continued to portray the character of Kendall up to the series finale on September 23, 2011. As part of a baby-swap plotline that took place in 2004 and 2005 on the daytime soap One Life to Live, Minshew made a few cameo appearances as the character of Kendall throughout those years. 

While filming for All My Children was in the process of moving from New York to Los Angeles in 2009, Minshew welcomed her first child into the world and went on maternity leave. She was given the role of the main protagonist in the movie Desires of the Heart, which started production in Savannah, Georgia, in August 2012. 

Alicia plays the role of a Georgia artist in the new movie that was directed by James Kicklighter. Beacon Hill is a soap opera web series premiered in 2014 and stars Minshew as New York City reporter Sara Preston. As a result of Alicia's performance in the role, she was considered for the Outstanding Performer in a New Approaches Drama Series award at the Daytime Emmys in 2015.

Alicia finished taping her role in the musical faith-based television series Wholly Broken in 2016.
