Inside Kathy Griffin's Married Life and Dating History
Kathy Griffin has been married twice: The comedian-turned-actress has a controversial dating history: Complete story here!
Comedian Kathy Griffin is as controversial as one can get. She rose to fame with her distinguished sense of humor, marked by jokes infused with popular culture and often, at the cost of celebrities' images. Best known for headlining the titular reality show, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, which earned her an Emmy, Griffin is also an established actress now. Some of her acting credits include Dirty Love, Suddenly Susan, Muppets From Space, and Medusa: Dare to Be Truthful.
Kathleen Mary Griffin was born on November 4, 1960, in Oak Park, Illinois, to first-generation Irish-American parents. Kathy's first-hand experience in comedy stemmed from her childhood when she play the favorite gossip monger in her neighborhood. Along the way, Griffin definitely honed her peculiar talent and even carved a career out of it. Griffin's flourishing career was almost derailed when she posted a picture with a fake bloodied head of then-president Donald Trump, in 2017. Griffin suffered severe professional consequences for her demeanor but luckily made out of it.
Inside Kathy Griffin's Dating History!
A comedian known and often scorned for her abrasive and self-deprecating humor, Griffin couldn't care less about being a part of Hollywood's A-list ensemble. "The secret to my success is I know what list I'm on and I embrace it," the comedian famously said while calling herself a D-list. Kathy's dating history, however, is a far cry from any run-off-the-hill romances. The self-proclaimed D-lister has had somewhat of a famous dating record.
In 2000, Griffin was introduced to computer administrator Matthew Moline, who became her first husband in 2001. But it didn't take the couple long to announce their separation and embroiled in a mortifying scandal. Following their separation in 2005 and the finalized divorce in 2006, Griffin infamously accused her ex-husband of stealing from her. The comedian accused Moline of stealing a total of $72,000 from her.
It was later revealed that the pair were on and off for a while as they tried to resolve their differences via couple therapy, but Kathy decided to end it eventually. Although her ex-husband didn't publicly agree or denied the accusations, Moline did voice his disappointment in Griffin. "Since our divorce, I have not made any public comments about my ex-wife or our marriage. It saddens me that she would choose to make such accusations at this time," Moline said.
After settling matters with Matthew in 2007, Griffin almost immediately moved on with Apple co-founder, Steve Wozniak. The comedian and the Apple Billionaire dated for nearly a year before calling it quit in 2008. "He is an awesome guy, but I have to say he is in the friends' category now," Griffin said after their famous break-up. The Emmy winner even had Steve appear in her Bravo reality show, which firmly confirmed their amicable split.
Griffin's involvement with model/actor Levi Johnston, who's half her age, is still questioned to this day. The duo's ambiguous relationship was even documented on Griffin's Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List. Except for the frequent teasing of her romantic ties with Johnston, Kathy never confirmed anything officially. Although, the comedian acted quite dramatically heartbroken when Levi announced his engagement to Bristol Pallin in 2010.
The Emmy-winning comedian went on to have a fling with the Twilight star Kellan Lutz in 2010 and later entered an official relationship with NFL practice-squad player Isaiah Mustafa, who, in turn, denied being Kathy's boyfriend. "I love Kathy, she's great; she's a powerhouse, a hilarious, funny, intelligent person, but I'm a single man," the actor-turned-NFL star said.
Inside Kathy Griffin's Married Life!
Griffin, 62, who was diagnosed with stage-1 lung cancer in August 2021, despite never having smoked, has been spending her time looking after her health. The Suddenly Susan actress recently revealed that her MRI has come clean after a prolonged battle with the disease. Fans have since been showing their concerns for the comedian, but lucky for Griffin, she is surely not fighting this battle alone. The My Life on D-List star has her husband, Randy Bick, by her side.
Griffin started dating Bick in 2011 and married him in January 2020. The pair's nuptial was an unconventional and unfeigned affair. "Randy and I are doing sort of toy rings for the ceremony because neither one of us like wearing rings ever. So we will never wear rings. Deal with it," said Griffin, who wore the same dress she wore on her first date with Bick almost a decade ago. "He's like a regular guy, you know, he's like a real guy. He's not like a Hollywood guy," Kathy once said about her husband.
Griffin's now-husband, Randy, is a marketing executive. He is reportedly 18 years younger than Kathy. Despite being notably younger than his famous wife, Bick has cemented an image of being a supportive husband. Bick has stood by his wife's side as she navigated several downs over the years, including an alleged suicide attempt amid the Trump drama, addiction to painkillers, and her recent health challenges.
