The world remembers how and when Liam Payne rose to fame. A chance occurrence that paved the greatest career trajectories for Payne and his fellow bandmates. Payne is one of the four members of one of the biggest boy bands to ever exist. Payne and his fellow band members, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson were propelled to global fame with the English boy band One Direction, formed by music mogul Simon Cowell, and singer Nicole Scherzinger on the set of The X Factor.  

Born Liam James Payne on August 29, 1993, in Wolverhampton, England, Payne's journey in the music world kicked off with an audition in The X Factor in 2008 and 2010. Since the boy group's disbandment in 2016, Payne and the other four members have been successful in carving a solo career. The 29-year-old singer has had an exciting run in his personal life, which many might deem turbulent. Payne is a father to a son, who he shares with an ex-girlfriend.

Payne has suffered the ire of fans more than one time. Just last year the Strip That Down crooner was brutally trolled when he gave a controversial interview where he disrespected his former bandmates. Throughout his high-profile singing career, Payne has also sparked much notoriety around his personal life. Liam was at the onset of his ultimately stellar career when he also concurrently kicked off his dating career by romancing Danielle Peazer.   

Liam and Danielle, a former X-Factor dancer, met on the set of the English reality show and started dating in 2010. The pair's romance lasted almost three years until 2013. Payne quickly moved on with his childhood friend Sophia Smith in 2013 and ended things with her in 2015. Fans were taken aback when the One Direction alum started dating Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole, who was one of the judges on The X-Factor when Liam auditioned. Fans weren't so keen about the pair's relationship, considering that Cheryl was ten years older than Payne.    

But what started off as a shocking dating headline soon turned into a serious affair when the duo announced their pregnancy in 2016. The couple welcomed their son, Bear, in March 2017 and called it quits after a year. Payne later revealed their son's arrival in their lives changed their relationship. The singer said,  (their son) "ruined their relationship – but for all the right reasons."  

Further touching on his bond with Cole, Payne said, "we still have so much love for each other as a family. Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through this together." The English singer had a brief rapport going on with supermodel Naomi Campbell in January 2019 but nothing was ever confirmed. Liam found love again in late 2019 when he sounded over the moon about his relationship with model Maya Henry.   

"I'm very happy right now," the Stack It Up singer said as he confirmed their relationship. The pair were even engaged at one point before calling it off in June 2021. Fans swiftly put two and two together when Payne was spotted getting cozy with Instagram model Aliana Mawla amid his split from Henry. "Under no circumstances would Aliana have involved herself in a public relationship as such if there was any truth to the comments that have been made," said Mawla's rep.

Payne might just be a serial dater. The English singer is adamant about keeping a consistent dating record as he took no time to heal after his pretty serious relationship with Henry ended. You'd expect Payne or any other person in search of the one to hold back and retrospect, but we are here to tell you that Liam has done exactly the opposite of that. Payne is currently dating influencer Kate Cassidy.   

Payne and his new love interest, a half-English model, are reportedly considering a future together. Cassidy remains a relatively mysterious figure with not much information about her available except for the fact that she has over 30k Instagram followers and that she is a close friend of model Chantel Jeffries. Payne might be keeping his romance with Cassidy low-key, but the pair are already red-carpet and Instagram official.
