Known as the rapper brother of Grammy-winning singer Brandy Norwood, Ray J, is a well-recognized face on television, thanks to his notable credits on shows and reality series, including One On One, Celebrity Big Brother, Brandy, and Ray J: A Family Business, and more. Since his debut in the music industry with the 1995 album, Everything You Want, J has steered the gear of his career in multiple domains, like acting, business, and television, but has, for some reason, always remained known for his personal choices.  

William Ray Norwood Jr. was born on January 17, 1981, in McComb, Mississippi, to gospel singer Willie Norwood and Sonja Bates-Norwood. Ray's career took off with his debut album, specifically with the album's lead single, Let It Go. The rapper enjoyed a streak of professional success before a scandal tarnished J's profile. The rapper-turned-actor has been married to Princess Love since 2018, but the two have already called it quits multiple times.

Being a reality tv star, Jay doesn't mind a little drama about his personal life in front of the public, and believe us when we say the singer has had many over the years. J and Love, who star in the notorious reality show, Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood, have been forthcoming about their tumultuous relationship on the show and on other outlets. Ray and Princess tied the knot in August 2016, at Los Angeles' Cathedral of Saint Vibiana, and went on to welcome two kids, Meloday Love, 4, and Epik Ray, 2.   

The pair have called it quits many times since their 2016 nuptials and allegations of infidelity, with the on-and-off couple, airing out their dirty laundry, is recurring. "Anything I've ever done, you've done it with me," Ray said on one of the episodes while unveiling their unconventional marriage to the world. The singer further hurled, "anytime I've ever [expletive], Princess was right in the room." Love even admits to opening their bedroom door for a third person to spice up their marriage.   

Throughout their eight years of marriage, Ray and Princess have taken turns filing for divorce three times. Last year, amid their divorce drama and incessant accusations, Princess was rumored to have put her foot down on their relationship. The reality star was even rumored to be dating a promoter. Love once complained how despite giving into Jay's kinky fantasies and adapting to unconventional norms, the Let It Go singer never seemed to be happy and satisfied.  

"There have been times where it's like, I love Ray so much, I tried to do the whole," Princess shares, adding, "because you don't have to go outside of the relationship, I can be fun too, but nothing is ever enough for Ray." However, the Mississippi-born singer has also had complaints about his kids' mama and has similarly accused Love of cheating. "You grew a connection with somebody, you like somebody. I've never liked anybody. That's a problem," Ray told his wife in an episode.  

Ray J and Princess Love Calling It Quits For Good?  

After all the drama and public humiliation, they've been through, you'd think the singer and the reality star would call it off for once and all. But apparently not. After the third divorce filing in October 2021, filed by Ray for the second time, court documents reveal, the singer has filed to have the proceedings dismissed. The filing further reveals that Ray made the move "without prejudice," which means either party can opt to change their about the proceedings.   

The 42-year-old's decision to dismiss the divorce filing wasn't completely out of the blue, given that Ray reconciled with Princess last month. "Had to get my wife back and start fresh" the singer wrote while announcing a "new music project and a new network deal," J added, "I love my family. I'll fight over and over for life for my family and kids! I'll put it all on the line for my children to be happy and safe and close to me 24/7."  

Ray's personal life has always been a staple in the gossip tabloids. The One Wish singer famously dated Kim Kardashian in the early 2000s until their messy split in 2006. Kim wasn't an internet icon at the time and was working as a stylist for Ray's famous sister when things started brewing between her and J. The duo's relationship ended in 2006 and not long after, a sex tape of the estranged couple marred their reputation beyond imagination.
