February 14 is celebrated as Valentine's Day in an honor of St. Valentine, a Roman priest who was imprisoned for performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry in Rome.
Later he was hanged till death by the Roman Empire and so, to honor and tribute the priest, lovers from all over the world exchange gifts and feast together to mark the day of Valentine's sacrifice for love.
