Shannen Doherty's Husbands Over the Years: Everything to Know

Actress Shannen Doherty has been married many times: The Little House on the Prairie alum is divorcing her third husband, Kurt Iswarienko!

Most recall Shannen Doherty as the little Jenny Wilder in the beloved television series, Little House on the Prairie, which catapulted her to become a household face as a child. Many might associate the actress more with her adult roles in shows like Beverly Hills, 90210, Charmed, Fortress, and Heathers. Despite her successful acting career on the small screen, Doherty is known, more often than not, for her slew of misdemeanors during her heyday. The actress was infamously dubbed the "iconic Hollywood bad girl of the 90s" in accord with her many on-set dramas.  

Born on April 12, 1971, not much is known about Shannen's life outside of the industry. It's safe to say that the actress spent most of her life in the spotlight and perhaps assimilated the brash personality along the journey. Stacks of complaints about the actress's attitude and her good number of run-ins with the law not only racked her a bad reputation but also posed a hindrance in her otherwise blooming career. But ever since Doherty's cancer diagnosis in 2015, people have seemingly obliterated the actress's bad past.  

Shannen Doherty was Married Twice Before!  

Love her or hate her but you simply can't refute her courage. Doherty has faced several surges of backlash over the years for being herself, but not once has the actress stooped to admit it. "With all great things comes a little backlash," Doherty once said. The actress has probably been applying the same motto to her personal life. Doherty didn't cement a stellar acting career without some blocks on the way and the same goes for her romantic life, which is filled with its fair share of dramas.   

The Little House on the Prairie actress's love life kicked off with an unpleasant experience. At the peak of her career, Doherty got engaged to Dean Jay Factor- only to find out that her fiancee had filed a restraining order against her over physical violence allegations in 1993. Although nobody heard the end of the debacle, Doherty reportedly alleged that the violence came from Factor's side. The Charmed actress married her first husband, actor Ashley Hamilton, in October 1993.   

Considering that she and Hamilton had married within just weeks of dating each other, it wasn't much of a surprise when the pair called it quits after five months. Shannen's dating timelines are all jumbled up but as per a few sources, the actress's dating history also includes names like Judd Nelson, Jason Pomeranc, Luke Perry, and Vince Neil. Doherty was unmarried for a long time after her first divorce, eight years to be precise, and walked down the aisle a second time in 2002.   

The Dancing with the Stars alum married the defamed poker player Rick Saloman in 2002. Shannen got her marriage annulled from Saloman, who also famously married actress Pamela Anderson, after nine months after their nuptials. Almost a year after the duo's split, Rick got embroiled in a sex tape scandal with hotel heiress Paris Hilton. The former child actress is currently married to her third husband, Kurt Iswarienko, a marriage which has run its course as Doherty recently filed to get a divorce for the third time.   

Despite her two, albeit brief marriages and her over decade-long marriage with Kurt, the Little House on the Prairie actress has never had any children. While most of it has to do with the actress not finding a suitable partner during her fertile years, Shannen explains, her health crisis stole away the little chance she had to conceive a child. "It's not possible for me to get pregnant because I can't get out of menopause," Shannen said before explaining how the cancer medication threw her body into menopause instantly.   

Inside Shannen Doherty's Third Marriage!  

The proverb third time is the charm was probably forged after a fluke because look at Doherty and Iswarienko's marriage. "My happy place got a lot happier with the arrival of my best friend. I couldn't love this man more," the actress once wrote about her now-estranged husband. Doherty's ongoing battle with cancer and the actress's anecdotes about how Kurt became her number 1 cheerleader in the process made us believe in true love, a concept which is now jolted as a rep for the actress revealed that Shannen has officially filed for divorce.   

"Divorce is the last thing Shannen wanted. Unfortunately, she felt she was left with no other option," Doherty's rep, Leslie Sloane, said in a statement. It case seems to be of infidelity as Leslie also divulged that Kurt's agent was "intimately involved" in their split. Shannen's divorce filing comes days after she posted a cryptic message on Instagram. "The only people who deserve to be in your life are the ones who treat you with love, kindness, and total respect," Shannen wrote. 

The pair met and connected in 2008 and walked down the aisle in October 2011. Shannen and Kurt were going smoothly when the duo's world was rocked by Shannen's cancer diagnosis in 2015. "My marriage was always strong, but it’s (cancer) made my marriage a thousand times stronger," the Charmed actress said, adding, "He's never missed a chemo. He's never missed a sick day." Shannen's estranged husband, Kurt, is a producer, cinematographer, and photographer. Some of his credits are Pirates of the Caribbean, Clockstoppers, and Yup Yup Man.
