"Don't Let Me Get Me" Singer Pink Reveals She Had a Miscarriage When She Was Just 17

Pink recently opens about her bitter past and the "several miscarriages" she had as a teenager. She reveals that counseling and therapy helped her to cope with her bitter experiences and save her marriage.

Talking to USA Today, the "Just Like a Pill" singer, Pink disclosed the meaning behind some of the songs of her new album, Hurt 2B Human.

Pink revealed about her multiple miscarriages.

One of her songs, "Happy" was close to her heart as she revealed in the lyrics, "Since I was 17, I’ve always hated my body / and it feels like my body’s hated me". Well, those words is all about the miscarriage she suffered when she was just 17.

She told,

"The reason I said [that] is because I’ve always had this very tomboy, very strong gymnast body, but actually at 17 I had a miscarriage. And I was going to have that child."

She continued,

"But when that happens to a woman or a young girl, you feel like your body hates you and like your body is broken, and it’s not doing what it’s supposed to do."

As a way to tackle her heart-wrenching experience, she wrote the song in her latest album, Hurt 2B Human released on 20th February 2019. She frankly speaks about her battles with anxiety, self-love, self-image, and depression.

Since the first heart-breaking experience, she has had a number of miscarriages.

"I’ve had several miscarriages since, so I think it’s important to talk about what you’re ashamed of, who you really are and the painful s—. I’ve always written that way."

During the interview session, she mentioned that it is inevitable to talk about painful things and one shouldn't be ashamed of those things. Further, she explained that she could cope with those experience through therapy and humor.

She revealed of therapist,

"Although that's uncomfortable and painful, it gives you something to work with. I think the reason I can go to such uncomfortable places and be so honest is because I have a really healthy sense of humor."

The Grammy-winning singer and her husband Carey Hart have been in therapy for their entire relationship and that's the only reason they could sustain every ups and downs of their marriage. They have been in couples counseling for nearly 17 years.

The duo who shares a daughter Willow Sage and a son Jameson Moon previously announced their separation in 2008 but they reconciled the following year.

She gives all the credit to counseling for saving her marriage.
