Candace Owens Was Stopped By Police For Not Wearing Mask
On April 14, 2020, Republican activist Candace Owens and her husband George Farmer was stopped by police in Whole Foods for not wearing a mask.
The incident took place at Washington D.C., where it is mandatory for customers to wear a mask or mouth covering from April 8, 2020.
According to Owens, the police officers at the Whole Foods stopped her and her husband from entering and asked them to wear the masks. To which she replied,
"I don't have a mask. I haven't bought one.'" I didn't race to buy toilet paper, I'm not a part of the corona crazies. I'm not a part of the tin foil hat, bunkering in my basement. I'm just living my life.'
However, the cops were not satisfied with the former Turning Point USA member's argument and still did not let the pair enter the store. They were only allowed after they agreed to hold their clothing up to their faces while picking items on the store.
Owens shared this whole anecdote on her Twitter through a video. Also, she commented that all these coronavirus preventive measures imposed in Washington DC and elsewhere are quickly turning this country into tyranny.
Her supporters agreed with her sentiment whereas many people also commented her to be more considerate especially towards people who are suffering from chronic illness as they are more prone to contracting the COVID-19.
Police enforcement @wholefoods? #coronavirus is spiraling into tyranny. https://t.co/EXA56c7ynJ

Candace, from the beginning, has downplayed the seriousness of the virus. Not only that, but she has also continuously spread misinformation about the virus and has thrown many conspiracy theories as well.
On April 6, 2020, the 30-year-old claimed that there is a financial incentive for states to inflate the number of coronavirus deaths. Thus states such as New York, Connecticut, and California are claiming to be the hardest hit. Also, she has compared the COVID-19 pandemic to annual influence outbreaks.
Owens do not consider coronavirus as a significant threat, even with growing cases and fatality. Infact she believes most of the governors are being dishonest regarding the disease and usually the pandemic for their political benefit.
Frustrated with the situation, On April 2, Owens announced that she is seriously planning to run for office. Though at that time, she hinted that she would reveal soon whether she will be running for governor, Senate, or House; however, even after nearly two weeks, there are no updates.
