According to Daily Mail, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have reached a divorce settlement. A little under two years after the couple had separated, they agreed on child custody and property matters.
People and TMZ have reported that both celebrities would get equal access to their four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. After going through the legal process, a prenuptial agreement was in place between Kardashian and West. As a result, their assets were distributed fairly.
Neither side will get spousal support; nevertheless, West, who legally changes his name to Ye, must pay his ex-wife $200,000 per month in child support payments. Additionally, he will be responsible for fifty percent of the funds required for the children's upkeep and education.
Ye has publicly criticized Kim's parenting, including that she does not take their children to Donda Academy, which Ye once owned but has since closed. As per reports, the settlement stipulates that in the event of a future dispute involving the children, both Ye and the reality star engage in mediation. If either of them does not show up, the other decides.
Even though Kardashian and Ye's divorce took a long time to finalize, it wasn't because she needed to strive harder. The rapper went through several different attorneys and skipped out on his depositions multiple times.
After Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021, he attempted to woo her back but was unsuccessful. Ye and Kardashian worked through the divorce settlement, and Kardashian requested that the court declare her legally single.
The KUWTK star rejected this request. The star of Keeping Up with the Kardashians stated that Ye was the source of "mental turmoil" because he had spread "misinformation regarding our private family affairs and co-parenting on social media." Her request was approved by the judge nine months ago.
In 2012, Kardashian and Ye began a romantic relationship, and the couple tied the knot in 2014. Throughout their relationship, they faced several challenges, including the robbery she suffered in Paris and the rapper's illness in 2016.
Their marriage went through its most challenging time in 2020, when he made highly personal statements about their family during his unsuccessful presidential campaign. This caused a significant strain on their relationship. In a very unusual public speech, Kardashian addressed her boyfriend's bipolar diagnosis and appealed for "compassion." After waiting another seven months, she submitted the divorce papers.
In recent months, Kardashian and Ye have been seen attending parenting gatherings together; however, it is unknown how friendly the two are in light of the rapper's behavior that has been making headlines.
