Pierce Brosnan Announces Birth of Fourth Grandchild

Actor Pierce Brosnan is in love with his fourth grandchild. The Fast Charlie alum took to Instagram on Thursday to announce the birth of his latest grandchild, Jaxxon Elijah Brosnan. Sharing only the cutest snap ever of the newborn, Brosnan wrote, "Jaxxon Elijah Brosnan, born 3:06 pm 11/12/22. All good blessings to you, my dearest grandson, welcome. Congratulations, my darling Sean, Sanja, and Marley. Peace be with you."  

The latest edition to the Brosnan clan, Jaxxon, is the second child of Pierce's son Sean and his wife, Sanja Banic. The pair are parents to 7-year-old daughter Marla May, who holds a special place in Pierce's heart. "Sean has the most beautiful daughter that I am grandpa too," the Bond actor once said, adding, "I try to have some lyrical name, Poppy, Hemingway-esque, but I am a grandpa."   

The 69-year-old actor-turned-producer is a father to five. He has two grandchildren, Isabella, 24, and Lucas, 17, from his late daughter Charlotte, his stepdaughter from his first marriage with actress Cassandra Harris. Brosnan adopted Harris's two children, Charlotte and Christopher, when their father, Dermot Harris, Cassandra's ex-husband, died in 1986. Pierce and Cassandra were married from 1980 to Cassandra's death of ovarian cancer in 1991. The pair had their son Sean in 1983. 

The Black Adam's daughter Charlotte also succumbed to the same disease as her mother in 2013 at 41. Charlotte was married to Alex Smith at the time of her death. Announcing the untimely death of his daughter, Pierce said, "on June 28 at 2 p.m., my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer." The Golden Eye actor adds, "Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl."

After the death of his first wife, Brosnan found love again during a trip to Mexico, where he met his now-wife, journalist Keely Shaye Smith. The pair went on to date for seven years before finally exchanging vows in 2001. Over the course of their two-decades-long marriage, the couple has welcomed two kids, sons Dylan, 25, and Paris, 21. Reflecting on his second chance at love, the actor said, "I had a great marriage which sadly had its own ending, and I was lucky enough to find love again. We  ere meant to find each other. I t ank God for her every day."   

The Bond actor's youngest kid, Paris, is an aspiring model and has worked with Dolce & Gabanna and Balmain. Pierce and Keely's oldest, Dylan, is a singer and model. Best known as a member of the group Raspberry Blonde, Dylan has also dabbled in acting. Pierce's oldest son Christopher works as an assistant director, and his second oldest, Sean, has credits in several films, including Generation Kill, Alein Uprising, and Acts of Violence.
