Maria Sharapova on Tuesday celebrated her 35th birthday by announcing in an Instagram post that she is pregnant and expecting her first child with fiance Alexander Gikes.

"Precious beginnings!! Eating birthday cake for two has always been my specialty," Sharapova wrote in an Instagram post. The former tennis star uploaded a photo of herself cradling her growing baby bump while posing in a strapless bikini top and flowy pants on a beach.

Alexander, 42, shared his excitement by commenting on his fiancee's post with a heart-eye emoji. Several fans and friends used to congratulate the pair in the comment section.

The five-time Grand Slam champ celebrated their engagement with the caption," Thank you for making me a very happy boy. I look forward to a lifetime of loving you and learning from you."

The couple confirmed their relationship in 2018. And it is the first time Sharapova's getting married. Meanwhile, Gikes previously got hitched to Misha Nonoo in May 2012.
